Hundreds of Baby Boomer Bikers Converge on Downtown Vancouver and Southwest Washington for Inaugural Rally on July 18-19

Vancouver, WA, June 4, 2008 – Hundreds of recreational motorcyclists will converge on downtown Vancouver for the inaugural Baby Boomer Bikers Rally on July 18 and 19. Approximately 500 motorcycles and 50 vendors are expected for the event, which will be held at 400 W. 4th Street, two blocks south of Esther Short Park. The event will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington.

“This event is aimed at baby boomers who like great motorcycle tours through beautiful scenery and enjoy good food, drink and entertainment,” said Paul Winters, event promoter, Vancouver business consultant and lifelong motorcycle enthusiast. Along with a number of vendors, we will have bike dealers and custom bike builders. The custom bikes on display are spectacular and draw large groups of admirers. Our area has a multitude of great rides for motorcycles—good roads, lots of curves and wonderful scenery."

Pre-registration fees are $20 per rider and bike, $15 for bike passenger and other guests, $10 for the Poker Run until July 3. After that, online registration, which closes on July 9, will increase to $25. Registration at the gate on the days of the event will cost $35 per rider. Pro Caliber Motorsports is the presenting sponsor. Promoters are Winters Associates and Elite Marketing. Other sponsors are The Columbian, Waste Connections and the City of Vancouver.

Pro Caliber Motorsports has Christmas gift ideas both big and small
Ken Vance, staff reporter

Christmas is considered by most to be one of the times of the year filled with the most fun. For those who are looking for fun, Pro Caliber Motorsports could be the place to be.

Just call the store, located at 10703 NE 4th Plain Blvd., at (360) 892-3030 and they will let you know right up front.

“We sell fun,’’ said Ken Thompson, general manager of the Pro Caliber store. “It’s kind of our slogan.’’

Pro Caliber is one of the leaders in the industry selling motorcycles, both for the street and off road, as well as all terrain vehicles and snowmobiles. For those looking to make a great deal on a gift of fun for Christmas, Pro Caliber is offering a couple of helpful promotions.

First, there is a special on an expanded number of makes and models in a buy one, get one free promotion. It’s been so popular in recent weeks, that Thompson said the store has expanded the amount of bikes, ATVs and snowmobiles that are available for the special.

“We started out with it just being certain ATVs, certain models,’’ Thompson said. “We’ve expanded it to include some others. We will work with the customers to get them the best combination deal we can. We’re going to run that real close to Christmas.’’

Those who visit the Pro Caliber store will also see the Boy Scouts selling Christmas trees in the parking lot. That made it easy for Pro Caliber to also offer a special where customers get a free Christmas tree with the purchase of any new or used motorcycle or ATV.

“We’ve got the Boy Scouts in the front parking lot with the enclosure selling the trees so we worked out a deal with them,’’ Thompson said. “When we sell a new bike, ATV or snow mobile, we’ll get the customer a new tree.’’

One of the best reasons to purchase a motorcycle, ATV or snowmobile from Pro Caliber is their Exclusive Priority Service special, which gives customers the opportunity to save a lot of money on the expense of future servicing and repairs.

“We have priority service and I don’t think any other store in the area has it,’’ Thompson said. “You have the option of paying for your services up front. When you compare that with paying for it over the next three years, you are paying only a small fraction of the maintenance fees you would be paying normally.

“As a store, we guarantee our work in between the services,’’ Thompson said. “If you have your service done and something breaks internally on the motor, we stand behind that. You are really spending a whole lot less on your bike than you normally would.’’

For those whose Christmas budget won’t allow a big purchase for that riding enthusiast this season, Pro Caliber offers many other Christmas gift ideas that might be a little easier on the pocketbook or wallet.

“Right now is a very busy time for our parts and accessories department,’’ Thompson said. “We sell a lot of the trendy sweatshirts, T-shirts and all the articles of clothing that go with riding. A lot of people come in here and shop for clothes. They can get the riding gear and all the stuff that has the ATV pictures on it or whatever they want.’’

Pro Caliber also provides a way for motorcycle enthusiasts to meet others with the same interests.

“We have a Star Club here at the store and they do weekly rides out of the store on Sundays,’’ Thompson said. “All bikes are welcome. It’s a great way to get to know some people who have the same likes as they do--the riding bug.’’

Times for the rides and gettogethers vary, so those interested should contact the store for more details.

For more information on Pro Caliber, customers can visit www.procalibervancouver.com on the internet.

“We really have a large area, 53,000 square feet of showroom, parts and accessories,’’ Thompson said. “All of our technicians are certified and most have won awards for their work. We’ve got a really
good group of people working here that can help with parts, accessories, sales--the whole thing.’’
